MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

An aerospace manufacturing engineer develops, implements, and optimizes production processes to transform digital designs into compliant, high-quality aerospace components. They bridge design, production, and quality teams, creating work instructions, tooling, and technical documentation to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, often utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Designing and testing manufacturing methods, equipment, and tooling for new and existing aerospace products.
  • Producibility Reviews: Reviewing engineering designs to ensure they are feasible for production, cost-effective, and scalable.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Creating and maintaining detailed work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Troubleshooting: Root cause analysis of manufacturing defects and implementing corrective actions (CARs) to prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilizing lean manufacturing to improve quality, reduce waste, and enhance safety in workshops.
  • Collaboration: Serving as a liaison between design engineering, quality, production teams, and suppliers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Aerospace Standards: Understanding of aerospace regulations and quality management systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical issues and root cause investigation.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and non-verbal skills to lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Job Scope and Context

  • Environment: Typically 100% on-site, requiring presence on the production floor.
  • Focus: Bridging low-rate initial production (LRIP) to high-rate production.

Pay: $65k annual DOE

Job Type: Onsite, Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm

We are looking for a candidate that is familiar with the manufacturing process, can read blueprints, and use various inspections tools. Main duty is to inspect production parts against specifications per customer drawings. Experience in the industry is preferred but more than experience, we need someone who is detail oriented, a fast learner, a team player, and a hard worker.
