Aerotek Welder And Fabricator in Lakeland, Florida
Description
Pay: $23 - $24 depending on weld test & interview Shift: 5am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday & 5am - 10am on Friday's (normal schedule is Mon-Thurs, but demand is causing Friday work as they are very busy)
Overview: This role is hands‑on and production‑focused. You’ll work from drawings, use standard shop tools, and be expected to produce clean, consistent welds that meet specs. This job suits someone who shows up on time, works steadily, and takes pride in doing solid work. Many people here have been with the company for decades, and long‑term employment is realistic if expectations are met. Additional training is available as skills increase, and pay can grow with proven capability.
Duties Fabricate and weld metal components using MIG and TIG processes Read and work from basic blueprints or fabrication drawings Measure, fit, and prep materials before welding Inspect your own welds and make corrections as needed Assist with repairs or modifications to existing equipment when required

Additional Skills & Qualifications
MIG and TIG welding on steel and similar metals Ability to set up machines, choose appropriate filler material, and produce structurally sound welds without constant supervision. Blueprint and basic shop drawing interpretation Read dimensions, symbols, and weld callouts well enough to build parts correctly the first time. Material measurement, cutting, and fit‑up Accurately measure, square, clamp, and tack parts so final welds meet tolerance and alignment requirements. Weld quality inspection and basic rework Visually inspect welds for common defects (porosity, undercut, lack of fusion) and fix issues without needing escalation. Safe operation of shop tools and equipment Confident use of grinders, saws, measuring tools, and general welding equipment while following basic shop safety practices.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
