Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Front Desk & Customer Service Coordinator to support our Corporate Headquarters. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, while also providing administrative and customer service support to our Customer Service team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow into a full-time Customer Service role handling calls, emails, and order entry.
Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Communication
Greet visitors, clients, and vendors in a welcoming and professional manner
Answer and direct incoming phone calls courteously
Manage front desk operations including mail, packages, and general inquiries
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
Customer Service & Administrative Support
Assist the Customer Service team with reports, order follow-ups, and data entry
Enter shipment status and tracking information into customer-specific portals
Monitor and help ensure smooth EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions
Provide proactive shipment and order status updates to customers via phone or email
Follow up on orders that are on hold and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of customer interactions
Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and manufacturing teams to support timely order fulfillment
Additional Duties
Support various administrative tasks as needed
Act as a backup to the Customer Service team during high-volume periods or PTO coverage, assisting with inbound calls and order entry
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ year of front desk or receptionist experience
1+ year of office-based customer service experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable multitasking and staying busy in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
Experience with ERP systems
Previous order entry experience
Manufacturing or logistics environment experience
Data entry experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Zurich, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
