Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite)
Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $145,000 - $160,000 annually
FlexStaff is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our client's Behavioral Health unit. Key Qualifications:
Must have experience managing a psychiatric unit within a hospital setting.
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
At least 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry.
A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Valid NY State RN license and current licensure.
BLS and ACLS certified.
Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams, oversee regulatory compliance (JCAHO, NYSDOH, OMH, DOHMH, ACS), and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Experience in budget management, performance improvement, and clinical operations.
Strong critical thinking, communication, and computer skills.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the psychiatric unit, ensuring high-quality patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, staff, and other stakeholders.
Oversee daily operations, including staffing, budgeting, supply management, and clinical workflows.
Coordinate performance improvement activities, utilizing benchmarks and data analysis.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and hospital policies.
Monitor admissions, discharges, and discharge planning to optimize clinical management.
Prepare reports and data for regulatory agencies such as NY State OMH, DOH, JCAHO, and others.
Provide administrative coverage for the Nursing Department as needed.
Promote continuing education and professional development within the team.
Drive innovative practices and uphold the hospital's philosophy of nursing and ethical standards. Participate in virtual interviews and onboarding processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven leadership experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital setting.
Strong knowledge of quality improvement models, root cause analysis, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to utilize electronic health records and healthcare systems effectively.
Commitment to professional growth and maintaining current clinical knowledge.
