SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - MODERATE/SEVERE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate California Teaching Credential; Mod/Severe Authorization; DOJ fingerprint and current TB clearances; valid CA driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
POSITION AND DUTIES:
- Provides support for the instructional program for students with special needs
- Provides pertinent information and consultant services to staff members and parents on student assessments and progress monitoring
- Ongoing planning with regular classroom teachers
- Demonstrates knowledge of special education laws, SELPA, and District policies and procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of TK-12 core curriculum for the purpose of designating and presenting instruction.
- Works under direct supervision using standardized procedures
Plans, organizes, and prepares IEPs, behavior plans, and transition plans as appropriate; monitors student progress; provides students with specialized instruction for the purpose of monitoring student progress; schedules IEP meetings; trains and provides work direction and guidance to assigned Paraprofessionals; uses technology for instruction, record keeping and preparing progress reports, report cards, benchmark assessments, etc.; performs other duties as assigned.
