Description: RISE has a network of hundreds of Direct Support Professionals working with people with disabilities and their families to help create and sustain the lives they want to live in their homes, families, and in the community. This includes supporting people in daily living activities, providing companionship, accompanying them to community events, teaching them skills, perhaps supporting or customizing employment, foster parenting, perhaps supporting or customizing employment, and much more. The Direct Support Professionals provides direct support to people through the implementation of the RISE Mission, Vision and Values and in compliance with all regulations and policies. REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator SALARY: Hourly wages starting at \$8.50 per hr LOCATION: Kingman / Lake Havasu City MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and/or education in the field of developmental disabilities or related field preferred. Must have a desire and interest in working with people with disabilities or special needs. Due to the need of the clients; Male providers are highly recommended! Must be at least eighteen (18) years. Must be over twenty-one (21) years if required to drive a RISE vehicle and meet other requirements as specified by the RISE Insurance Agency. Must pass background clearance. Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of the people/families receiving support, and demonstrate a knowledge of and respect for cultural differences. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide assistance to people receiving support through the implementation of the RISE mission, vision, and values. Demonstrate respect and promote choice. Promote the rights of people receiving support and contribute to an environment that is free of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. Support people in achieving outcomes identified in the person\'s plan. This includes keeping required documentation and any other prescribed or related task. Assist people (as applicable to the person) with the following supports: Daily living, Hygiene, Intimate Care, Mobility, Accessing their community, Lifting/ transferring, Behavioral supports to include redirecting and/or physically supporting people using approved techniques, Adequate supervision. Act as an appropriate role model and support people in using appropriate language, dress, table manners, respect, and other behavior as needed. Ensure that clean and safe environment is maintained. Quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations. RESPONSIBILITIES AS A TEAM MEMBER: Must be able to take personal responsibility for actions. Report to work on time as scheduled Attend staff meetings and other mandatory training as required by RISE Must work well with other team members by demonstrating the ability to cooperate with others in the group.
