JOB TITLE: Business Systems Engineer Senior - GUS
POSITION DESCRIPTION: W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Business Systems Engineer Senior - GUS with the following duties: Design, configure and/or develop, deploy, optimize, monitor and improve systems and business applications; clearly demonstrate understanding of the implications of their usage on the business; contribute to capability roadmaps and conducting technology research for innovation and continuous improvement; translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and deliverables; specialized with core technical and functional domain experience within respective team (beyond where necessary, demonstrates curiosity); define nonfunctional requirements in accordance with Engineering best practices (Security, reliability, performance, etc.); partner with administration and operational teams to improve key service practices. Documenting debt and waste; develop sustainable feedback loops for continuous improvement. Build sustainable systems with monitoring and observability, build with supportability in mind. Set standards for operating procedures and advises on best practices for engineers; support team activities (daily status meetings, tech huddle topics, desk checks) and pairing with peers to work on stories; regularly evaluate current business processes, applications, systems, and identify potential improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness; use each task/story as an opportunity to embed improvements; provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers. Up to 20% domestic travel to provide onsite support. Up to 80% remote work allowed from anywhere in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: Provide specialized business systems expertise within a designated business sub-domain, leveraging comprehensive domain knowledge to architect and recommending optimal solution frameworks for SAP ECC WM, EWM, and S/4HANA platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory compliance requirements; Design and deploy warehouse management processes (inbound, outbound, Inventory, Internal warehouse operations), analyze inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement through system and process enhancements; Diagnose and resolve functional and technical issues, monitor transactional data and interfaces, and provide ongoing support for production SAP/Non-SAP WMS environments to maintain uninterrupted operational performance and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs); Facilitate comprehensive end-to-end testing protocolsincluding Functional Unit Testing (FUT), System Integration Testing (SIT), Volume Performance testing (VPT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), author, validate, and maintain detailed technical and functional documentation as part of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); Conduct effort estimation for development initiatives, design and validate proof-of-concept (POC) solutions, and systematically monitor, report, and analyze system performance metrics and application health indicators to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
COMPENSATION: The anticipated base pay range for this position is \$108,077 to \$145,000 which reflects the potential base pay at the time of this posting. Base pay will depend on factors such as work location, relevant experience, and skills.
