Trustmark Actuarial Systems Associate in Lake Forest, Illinois

About the role

Responsible for being the initial point of contact for all inquiries related to actuarial data for Universal Life plans. Serves as the internal subject matter expert to support both the customer service and actuary teams. Balances actuarial support by utilizing data resolution to service the Customer Service team with policy needs. Blends analytical thinking and problem solving to focus on providing information necessary for a positive customer experience for policy values and associated costs.

Key Accountabilities:

Customer Service and New Business Support

  • Provides customer service team clear, timely answers to inquiries about policy values and policyholder requests.

  • Receives policy change requests and uses product knowledge to recommend supported actuarial changes.

  • Collaborates with the customer service area by providing possible solutions for policies at risk of lapsing by understanding product and options.

  • Support the New Business area by providing alternative options that can be given to policyholders in instances of misquoted policies at time of enrollment.

  • Utilizes Actuarial data to examine all scenarios and provide cost alternative options to keep policy active.

Actuarial Support

  • Maintains an up to date and accurate master directory of UL policies.

  • Ensures all policies, including those that do not function correctly on mainframe, are updated and accounted for in centralized master spreadsheet.

  • Co-ordinate with team to ensure that annual statements for policies are accurately completed and communicated within appropriate timeline.

  • Partners with the team that sets values for all policies to better understand and service other departments.

  • Respond to requests regarding affected policies and provide policy values to customer service area.

  • Provides analysis and calculations for basic policies and escalates as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 – 2 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 2-4 years of related experience.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong technical skills and comfort with using Excel.

Preferred:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, both internally and externally.

  • Life Insurance Product knowledge.

The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):

$62,947.30 - $90,923.65 per year

The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus. We understand that compensation is an important factor when considering a new opportunity, and we strive to provide a competitive salary within the market.
