Job Title: Set-Up Operator
Job Description
Perform tooling changeovers and set-up for thermoforming machines efficiently and within time deadlines. The ideal candidate will start early mornings at 6:00 am.
Responsibilities
Start-up and shut-down of thermoforming lines, setups, and changeovers.
Diagnose problems and perform minor adjustments/repairs to thermoforming machines to ensure efficient operation.
Perform in-process inspections of parts throughout the production run to ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance.
Ensure operators are properly trained and are performing their duties correctly.
Recognize defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions.
Report any non-critical machine deficiencies to the assistant as needed.
Essential Skills
Ability to read written and printed job order sheets, work instructions, and quality specification documents.
Ability to effectively hear and communicate verbal work instructions and other information.
Ability to be on feet the majority of the workday and capable of lifting 50+ lbs.
Capable of solving problems and making quick decisions.
Excellent organization, communication, and comprehension skills.
Ability and knowledge to safely operate forklifts, power tools, and hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years previous work experience as a Set-Up Technician.
Prior plastic processing and material experience required.
OSHA and Safety Certifications are a plus (10 & 30 hour, LOTO, etc.).
High school diploma/GED required.
