Job Title: Set Up Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Set Up Operator to perform tooling changeovers and set up for thermoforming machines efficiently and within designated time deadlines. The ideal candidate will start work early in the morning, ideally at 6:00 am.
Responsibilities
Start-up and shut-down of thermoforming lines, setups, and changeovers.
Diagnose problems and perform minor adjustments/repairs to thermoforming machines to ensure efficient operation.
Perform in-process inspections of parts throughout production run to assure they meet visual standards of acceptance.
Ensure operators are properly trained and are performing their duties correctly.
Recognize defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions.
Report any non-critical machine deficiencies to the appropriate personnel as needed.
Essential Skills
Ability to read written and printed job order sheets, work instructions, and quality specification documents.
Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to receive and give instructions.
Physical ability to be on feet the majority of the work day and capable of lifting 50+lbs.
Problem-solving and quick decision-making skills.
Excellent organization, communication, and comprehensive skills.
Ability and knowledge to safely operate forklifts, power tools, and hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years previous work experience as a Set-Up Technician.
Prior plastic processing and material experience required.
OSHA and Safety Certifications are a plus (10 & 30 hour, LOTO etc.).
High school diploma/GED required.
