AEX is a business unit of Arconic (NYSE: ARNC). Arconic is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN. Profile : The primary purpose of this role is to be the first level of authority in the workplace providing leadership, coaching, and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, meeting customer demand, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting goals. Essential Functions: The Production Shift Supervisor within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. Major duties include but are not limited to:
- Meeting or exceeding production goals and people initiatives within a traditional unit supervisor role.
General duties for the Production Shift Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Leading safety initiatives.
- Monitoring performance against goals and implementing corrective actions to meet goals.
- Identifying and Implementing improvement plans.
- Solving problems to the root to prevent a recurrence.
- Effectively communicating with others within and outside the workgroup.
- Managing labor relations and conflict issues within the workgroup.
- Maintaining visual systems within area of accountability.
- Providing leadership and direction, and motivation to people in assigned area.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a production environment
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- This position may require access to export controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency.
