Ice Cream Specialties of Lafayette, IN is looking to expand our 2nd shift supervisory team! We are seeking a highly energetic, mechanically inclined individual who can supervise our 2nd shift production employees while contributing to continuous improvement efforts across the operation.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can lead employees in a fast-paced, assembly-line production environment.
Position Description
Shift: 2nd
Hours: Monday – Friday, 2 PM – 11 PM (some Saturdays and shift flexibility required depending on business needs)
Pay:
Starting at $22.60/hr + $1.00/hr shift premium for 2nd shift
Opportunity for $0.75/hr increase at 6 months (based on 3.5 performance score)
Opportunity for additional $0.75/hr increase at 12 months (based on 3.5 performance score)
Supervisor Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Creates manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating performance; coaching and providing feedback; and enforcing policies and procedures
Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; monitors progress and revises schedules as needed
Maintains quality standards by enforcing organizational expectations
Compiles and analyzes production data; responds to operational questions and requests
Maintains a safe and clean work environment through proper training and enforcement of safety protocols
Resolves personnel issues by analyzing situations, investigating concerns, and recommending solutions
Maintains communication with Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager
Job Skills:
Monitors production to minimize downtime and ensure adherence to schedules
Ensures efficient use of equipment and facility resources
Oversees product quality and proper machine operation
Maintains accurate daily production records
Assists with training employees on job functions and equipment operation
Promotes safety, cleanliness, and proper equipment handling
Supports continuous improvement / VFM initiatives
Approves weekly timecards and tracks attendance/absences
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to maintain productivity while following safety and operational protocols
Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Maintenance knowledge and mechanical aptitude preferred
Bilingual (Eng/Spa) skills encouraged, but not required.
Work Environment:
Employees must be able to work at varying speeds in a production environment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for the entirety of a 9+ hour shift
Frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Requires adequate hearing (with correction if needed)
