Aerotek Machine Shop Operator in Lafayette, Indiana
Job Description
Join a dynamic machine shop team as a Level III Machinist, where you will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring precision and quality in metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring. You will be responsible for following detailed control plans and specifications, contributing to a seamless production flow.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, transport materials, and operate wash tanks.
Use forklifts to move materials around the facility.
Perform quality checks using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
Troubleshoot and solve everyday production problems.
Maintain flexibility to work with various machines and assist in different areas of the machine shop.
Ensure adherence to quality, production, and housekeeping standards.
Essential Skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with machine operations.
Proficiency in running CNC machines and using quality measuring equipment.
Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Strong mathematical skills to interpret and adjust gauge readings.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform quality inspections.
Available Shifts & Pay
1st shift: 7am-3pm, Monday - Friday // $24.47
1st shift: 7am-7pm (Monday - Wednesday OR Thursday - Saturday) // $24.47
2nd shift: 3pm-11pm, Monday - Friday // $25.33
3rd shift: 11pm-7am, Sunday - Thursday // $25.33
3rd shift: 7pm-7am (Monday - Wednesday OR Thursday - Saturday) // $25.33
work 36, only paid 36 - idea is picking up extra hours during week to meet 40
For the first two weeks, you would train on 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7am -3pm

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
