Job Title: Level III Machinist
Job Description
As a Level III Machinist, you will be responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts to meet control plan specifications. You will operate CNC machines, perform quality checks, and assist with general duties within the machine shop.
Responsibilities
Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping, and other related duties associated with operations.
Set up and operate CNC machines, transport materials, and operate wash tanks.
Operate forklifts to move materials around the facility.
Perform quality checks using gauges, rules, calipers, and other measuring tools.
Troubleshoot and solve everyday operational problems.
Maintain flexibility to work on different machines as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably around machines.
Experience running a machine in a manufacturing environment (CNC preferred).
Experience with gauging and quality measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.
Experience using sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Strong math skills for addition and subtraction to determine gauge readings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience performing quality inspections on finished parts.
Deburring experience.

Work Environment
Work in a large, temperature-controlled machine shop with over 500 employees across five shifts. Enjoy a relaxed dress code with safety as the highest priority. PPE including steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses is required. The facility is kept clean and organized, ensuring a safe work environment. Employees are expected to adhere to policies like limited cell phone use and no listening devices during work hours.
2nd = 3PM-11PM M-F ($25.33)
3rd = 11PM-7AM Sun-TR ($25.33)
12 Hour Shifts (Machine Shop slowly moving to this) : 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am (Sun-Tue OR Wed-Fri) - work 36, only paid 36 ($24.47 - $25.33)- idea is picking up extra hours during week to meet 40.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
