Description
We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Northern, Colorado. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in corporate accounting and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Manage sales tax filings, payments, and reconciliations.
• Record and maintain accurate journal entries for various financial transactions.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide insights.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws.
• Conduct periodic reviews of financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and accounting procedures.
• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and processes.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns.
• Experience with journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and month-end closing activities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
