The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Adult and Aging Services has a part-time vacancy for Adult Protective Service Worker I-III.

SUMMARY:

APSW I

Under supervisory oversight, performs complex Adult Protective service investigations, social work assessments and case management and/or receives and investigates reports of suspected abuse, neglect, self-neglect, exploitation of a vulnerable adult, or perpetrator based abuse under the NH Protective Services to Adult Law, RSA 161-F:42. Develops, recommends, and implements a case plan designed to protect vulnerable adults and prevent future abuse, self-neglect, and/or perpetrator-based abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

APSW II

APSW III

Performs increasingly complex and complicated Adult Protective service investigations, interventions, social work assessments and case management and/or receives, reviews, and investigates reports of alleged adult abuse, neglect, self-neglect, exploitation of vulnerable adults or perpetrator-based abuse under the NH Protective Services to Adult Law, RSA 161-F:42. Develops, recommends, and implements a case plan designed to protect vulnerable adults and prevent future abuse, self-neglect, and/or perpetrator-based abuse, neglect or exploitation. Provides supervision for assigned subordinates.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

APSW IMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in social work, psychology, education, human services, counseling, professional case management, education or related experience.

License/Certification: Valid drivers license or access to transportation

Other Requirements:

  1. Must be able to travel to District Offices and/or other work locations up to 50 miles away from the assigned work location for temporary assignment or reassignment to ensure continuity of service to clients.

  2. Must be able to tele-work from home or other sites as assigned.

  3. Must be able to work overtime or non-traditional hours as assigned to meets the needs of clients.

AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must successfully complete thirty (30) hours of DHHS sponsored and/or approved continuing education/training in the first twelve (12) months of employment.

  2. Must attend and complete all mandatory job trainin , as assigned.

Criteria:21102003BGA01 (APSW to Level 4) For promotion from the 21-1020 Social Workers-3 job title to 21-1020 Social Workers-4 job title, the eligibility requirements in Personnel Rule 303.08 Broad Group Level Advancement must be satisfied, as well as the following criteria:

  1. Must have completed one year of employment as an 21-1020 Social Workers-3, Adult Protective Service Worker I.

  2. Must have completed all training requirements for the 21-1020 Social Workers-3, Adult Protective Service Worker I

  3. Must be up to date with all case records.

  4. Must receive a satisfactory performance evaluation and be free of discipline, pursuant to Personnel Rule 1003.01, for one (1) year immediately prior to promotion.

  5. Must receive a performance-based recommendation for promotion to the level of 21-1020 Social Workers-4, Adult Protective Service Worker II by the immediate Supervisor and approved by the Adult Protective Services Administrator or designee.

APSW II MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and 1.5 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 5.5years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in social work, psychology, education, human services, counseling, professional case management, education or related experience.
