The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Adult and Aging Services has a full-time vacancy for Adult Protective Service Worker I-III.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Under supervisory oversight, assists in the operationalization of the Office of Human Services (OHS) State Registry of founded reports to assure that the information in the Registry is accurate and meets regulatory requirements and information requests from employers regarding potential employees are managed efficiently and accurately. Under supervisory oversight, receives and assesses complex reports and inquiries of suspected abuse, neglect, self-neglect, exploitation of a vulnerable adult, or perpetrator based abuse under the NH Protective Services to Adult Law, RSA 161-F:42. Assesses for imminent danger, gathering case information and collaborating with law enforcement, courts, and other relevant entities.

Assesses for imminent danger, gathering case information and collabora ing with law enforcement, courts, and other relevant entities.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Other information:

APSW I

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Masters degree from an accredited college or university with major study in social work, sociology, psychology, human services, education or related behavioral science field.

Experience: One year of work experience in social work, human services, counseling, professional case management, education or related experience.

OR

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in social work, sociology, psychology, human services, education or related behavioral science field.

Experience: Two years of work experience in social work, human services, counseling, professional case management, education or related experience.

License/Certification: Valid New Hampshire driver's license and/or have access to transportation for statewide travel.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

For appointment consideration, APSW I applicants:

  1. Must successfully complete thirty (30) hours of DHHS sponsored and/or approved continuing education/training in the first twelve (12) months of employment.

  2. Must be able to travel to District Offices and/or other work locations up to 50 miles away from the assigned work location for temporary assignment or reassignment to ensure continuity of service to clients.

  3. Must attend mandatory job training as assigned.

  4. Must be able to tele-work from home or other sites as assigned.

  5. Must be able to work overtime or non-traditional hours as assigned to meets the needs of clients.

For promotion from APSW I to APSW II employees:

  1. Must have completed one year of employment as an APSW I.

  2. Must have completed all training requirements for the APSW I.

  3. Must be up to date with all case records.

  4. Must receive a satisfactory performance evaluation and be free of disciplinary action for one (1) year immediately prior to promotion. <
