The Department of Ecology is hiring a Wetlands Section Manager (WMS Band 2) *within the Shorelands & Environmental Assistance*{rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"} (SEA) program
Location:
- Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA{rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"}.
- Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
Schedule:
- This position is eligible for telework and flexible schedule options.
- A minimum of one day per week is required in the office.
- Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.

Duties
This Wetlands Section Manager position provides a unique opportunity to lead Ecology's statewide Wetlands Section within the Shorelands and Environmental Assistance (SEA) Program. In this role, you will direct a multidisciplinary team responsible for statewide wetland policy, technical assistance, mitigation and compliance oversight, wetland banking, riparian and wetland federal grant programs, and Puget Sound recovery efforts. You will guide the development of science-based statewide wetland policies, ensure consistent and defensible regulatory decisions, and represent Ecology on complex and high-visibility wetland issues at the state, regional, and nation
