Aerotek Refrigeration Technican in La Vista, Nebraska
Overnight Refrigeration Technician – $28–$32/hr – La Vista, NE
Overnight Shift • 8‑ or 12‑Hour Schedules Available
Job Description
Begin each shift by reviewing refrigeration and facility work orders, prioritizing critical items
Perform preventive maintenance on ammonia and glycol refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and supporting equipment
Monitor, inspect, and adjust refrigeration pressures, temperatures, valves, pumps, and related components
Troubleshoot and repair system issues involving sensors, gauges, solenoids, regulators, and control circuits
Conduct basic diagnostics on motors, belts, bearings, and mechanical drive components connected to refrigeration or facility utilities
Assist with minor fabrication or repair tasks (cutting, light welding, assembling brackets or supports)
Work closely with production and sanitation teams to maintain proper temperature control and minimize downtime
Document all service, inspections, and repairs according to facility and safety standards
Requirements
1+ year experience maintaining or troubleshooting industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia preferred but not required)
1+ year mechanical maintenance experience in a production, facility, or industrial environment
Basic electrical troubleshooting experience (low‑voltage controls, sensors, switches, etc.)
Ability to read gauges, understand pressure/temperature relationships, and safely work around pressurized systems
Strong commitment to safety, independent work, and accurate documentation
Boiler, HVAC, or refrigeration certifications are a plus but not required
Work Environment
Clean, climate‑controlled food production facility operating under strict quality and safety standards (including SQF). Stable company, strong maintenance team, long‑term employees, and consistent year‑round operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vista, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
