Lead Material Handler

What Material Handling contributes to Cardinal Health

Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within a plant, office or warehouse. May maintain records.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 2:00pm (overtime per business needs, weekends)

Responsibilities

• Picking, packing, inbound function, wrapping pallets, SPA proficient user, perform warehouse duties as needed

• Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach truck, swing reach truck, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks

• Using an RF scanner

• Support the supervisor in leading the team’s efforts in adhering to all government (OSHA, DEA, SBOP, FDA) regulations as well as safety, security and cleanliness of the warehouse

• Ensures that Cardinal Health’s principles, policies and procedures are consistently practiced

• Handles general employee inquiries and solves problems

• Maintains positive employee relations; promotes team environment and facilitates process improvement

• Work closely with other leads and supervisors within the facility to promote teamwork

• Plan daily workload and assignments

• Lead safety and quality discussions while maintaining productivity

• Ability to work at other CAH buildings as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills required

• 4+ years experience preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft office

• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail

• Strong leadership skills are essential

• Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignments

• Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications

• Works on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issue

• Makes recommendation for new or revised processes and has a role on the implementation

• Adheres to all quality guidelines

• Works with minimal degree of supervision. Has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines

• Provides guidance to less experienced team members

• May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise

Pay rate: $26.90 per hour
