Amergis Special Education Teacher – Preschool – La Quinta, CA in La Quinta, California
Pay: $60–$65/hr
Contract: Remainder of School Year | 35 Hours/Week | In-Person
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support preschool kidos in an in-person setting in La Quinta, CA. The educator will design and implement individualized programs, conduct assessments, provide direct instruction, and collaborate with general education staff and support teams to ensure each student’s success.
This role requires strong teamwork, a passion for early learners, and experience supporting kidos with diverse learning needs.
Position DetailsResponsibilities
Provide specialized instruction for preschool kidos in accordance with individual education plans
Conduct assessments and participate in multidisciplinary evaluation processes
Collaborate with general education staff on instructional strategies
Maintain accurate documentation per state and federal guidelines
Deliver consultation, support, and instructional strategies for inclusive environments
Participate in IEP development and meetings as needed
Support behavioral, academic, and developmental growth through evidence-based practices
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
Active state teaching certification as required
Preferred credentials:
• Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Teaching Credential
• Educational Specialist Credential
• Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
Minimum one year of experience in a teaching environment preferred
CPR certification (if applicable)
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
Current health certificate (if required)
Must meet all federal, state, and local regulations
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have preschool experience and experience conducting assessments

Location: La Quinta, CA
Setting: Preschool Special Education (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe)
Shift: Monday–Friday
Hours per Week: 35 (7 hours/day)
Duration: Remainder of the school year
Start Date: ASAP
In-Person Only
Candidates will be required to complete an in-person screening with the Director of SPED
