Chemours is seeking a Production First Line Supervisor to join our growing team. This position will be available at the La Porte Plant in La Porte, Texas and report directly to the Operations Manager.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintains standards in the areas of housekeeping, safety, attendance, operational discipline, standard operating procedures/conditions, and process safety management.
Interface with Production Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance FLS , Planning Groups, Manufacturing Technical Engineers etc. on priorities and needs to ensure effective execution of work and attainment of Production Schedule and Daily Production Needs.
Coordinate equipment readiness for maintenance activities as per published schedule; including equipment cleanliness, decontamination, lock-outs, and general work permits following established site policies.
Complete required documentation, such as checklists, shift notes, audits, special permitting for high hazard work, such as confined space entry.
Ensure employees follow established Maintenance Work Management Process; especially, early work identification and creation of work notifications to the proper SAP level with adequate descriptions.
Responsible for responding to and investigating personnel, operational safety and environmental incidents.
Performs audits and drives area improvements at the shift level
Evaluates employee performance and works to strengthen work team capabilities to include both technical and soft skills.
Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear.
Serve as Incident Commander for emergency response situations.
Works multiple successive days during critical business need times such as during a turn-around
Ensures compliance with the collective bargaining agreement in dealings with bargaining unit members
Coordinate weekly and daily work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
Solicits maintenance assistance during off-hours when needed to optimize operational effectiveness
The following is required for this role:
High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent
Prior process manufacturing experience
Knowledge of High Hazard chemical operations and safety.
Aptitude for leading and developing others.
Ability to communicate verbally and written.
Knowledge of computer use such as Microsoft office and other special programs as needed.
Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as business needs require.
The following is preferred for this role:
Manufacturing experience in PSM-covered High Hazard Processes preferred.
Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree
Fuming acid production and handling experience
Experience driving Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation of production systems
