Part-Time Prep Cook & Kitchen Assistant
Location: 27948 Frontage Rd, La Junta, CO
Wage: $15.16 / hour
Job Type: Part-Time (No Benefits)
Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Prep Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the "right hand" to our main Cook during lunch and dinner rushes. You will assist with food preparation, ensure plates are presented beautifully, and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
This is a split-shift position ideal for someone looking for steady part-time work during peak dining hours.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Plating:
- Assist the Cook with basic ingredient preparation (chopping vegetables, portioning, etc.) before service starts.
- Plate food accurately and consistently according to our presentation standards.
- Act as an expeditor/assistant during the rush to ensure food goes out hot and on time.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently during and after service.
- Sanitize work stations, cutting boards, and counters frequently.
- Perform closing duties, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash at the end of the night.

Schedule & Availability
This position requires working a Split Shift.
- Lunch Shift: 11:30 AM -- 2:00 PM
- Dinner Shift: 5:00 PM -- 8:30 PM
- Total Hours: Approximately 6 hours per day.
- Days: Monday through Saturday (Days will vary based on the weekly schedule).

Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or dishwashing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated individual.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
- Physical ability to stand for the duration of the shift and lift up to 25-50 lbs (trash bags, pots, inventory).
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
