Part time with variable hours as needed. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent; CDA or AA in ECE. * Experience working with children in a calm, gentle manner, and a willingness to learn appropriate classroom techniques and strategies in working with children. * Enrollment in the Oregon Child Care Division Central Background Registry. * Current Pediatric CPR and first aid certification, or obtain within 30 days. * Current Oregon Food Handler\'s Card, or obtain within 30 days. * COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption. Preferred Experience: * CDA or AA in ECE preferred (transcripts required if hired). Responsibilities: * Substitute for contracted staff as needed. * Work cooperatively with staff, parents and volunteers to carry out program duties in order to meet the nutritional, intellectual, emotional, social and physical needs of Head Start children and their families. * Help the Teacher maintain a safe, healthy, emotionally secure learning environment. * Help to implement daily lesson plans, follow a consistent schedule and effective transitions between activities. * Encourage language use, experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice-making. * Contribute to an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces parental involvement in the classroom. * Supervise and monitor children at all times. * May Contribute to the maintenance of accurate written records, including screening and assessment, special education documentation, anecdotal observations, documents for transition to public school under the direction of the Teacher. * Maintain open and on-going lines of communication within the direct service team, with enrolled families, with consultants and service providers, as assigned.
