Summary:

The Plant Cost Analyst will be part of Kunshan Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC) plant cost accounting team, supporting standardized cost accounting processes and financial services for APAC manufacturing sites. This role focuses on plant cost analysis, providing actionable insights into Operations and Finance. The analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve cost visibility, enhance decision-making, and drive efficiency within the plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly cost accounting activities for manufacturing plants, including production order variance analysis, inventory closing, standard cost and outlook updates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, summarize key cost drivers, and provide concise insights that support effective decision‑making by plant and operations teams.

  • Prepare clear cost analysis on unit cost trends, manufacturing efficiency, and cost‑saving opportunities, helping improve operational performance and financial transparency.

  • Support inventory accounting processes, including reconciliation, cycle count follow‑up, variance investigation, and monitoring of slow‑moving or aged inventory items.

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Procurement to address cost‑related inquiries, provide financial explanations, and ensure alignment across functions.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost accounting processes, data accuracy, reporting quality, and overall system efficiency.

  • Maintain compliance with internal control requirements and corporate finance policies in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Auditing, or related fields

  • 2–3 years of cost accounting or general ledger experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with standard cost, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost processes strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; proficient in Excel and Knowledge of SAP (CO, FI, MM) preferred.

  • Good command of English in both written and verbal communication.

  • Japanese language ability is preferred.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with operations and cross-functional teams.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
