The Opportunity
Grass Valley is seeking a fulltime Software QA Engineer to work on our reliable, end to end, open systems based Media Production solutions for our Content Creator, Broadcaster and Media Organisation customers.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and/or mobile applications
Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression and integration testing
Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test case creation, automation scripting, and defect analysis
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
Maintain and enhance test automation frameworks
Analyze test results and provide clear, actionable reports on quality metrics and risks
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes, tools, and best practices
Investigate performance and stability issues involving a large and evolving set of code bases
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3 - 6 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
Proven experience using AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot to support testing or automation activities
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and QA best practices
Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Artillery.io), test management and defect tracking tools
Basic knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in API testing (e.g., Postman, REST Assured)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git)
ISTQB or other QA-related certification
Experience testing workflow-based or enterprise systems
