Role & Responsibilities:

Position summary

The Director, Logistics & Customs Operations oversees the end-to-end operation including origin logistics, inbound logistics, international drop ship and customs to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and fully compliant movement of goods globally. The role focuses on optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving strategic initiatives that enhance supply chain performance. The Director partners closely with Sourcing, Planning, Regional Inbound, Customer Service and Finance teams to formulate Logistics strategy, enable business growth, and mitigate risk. This role is based in Kuala Lumpur to support our growing logistics and customs capabilities in the region, and to steward the development of the Malaysia service center while igniting culture and building our local operational strategy.

Key Result Areas:

Strategic Leadership & Operations Excellence

  • Direct daily logistics operations, including origin, inbound, international drop ship and custom activities, ensuring timely delivery performance of VF cargoes

  • Develop and execute the global logistics and customs operations strategy aligned with business objectives to improve efficiency and responsiveness across supply chain.

  • Champion strategic evaluation of the global network design and optimization from origin & inbound APAC/EMEA perspective such as selection of carriers, freight strategy to mitigate market volatility with guaranteed capacity

  • Define the logistics technology roadmap to enhance efficiency and accuracy of operation with adoption of AI, data analytics and visualization. Improve shipment end-to-end visibility and real-time data integration.

  • Lead the structural evolution of the Global Logistics and Custom department. Align talent, culture, and processes to support product supply sourcing strategy and business growth strategy.

  • Formulate risk mitigation & business continuity playbooks to mitigate global disruptions in logistics such as geopolitical conflict, climate events, or port strikes.

Customs & Trade Compliance Operation

  • Ensure full compliance with international trade laws and custom regulations while managing key Customs inbound operations to drive smooth, cost-effective product flow for all regions.

Partner & Vendor Management (3PLs, Forwarders, Brokers)

  • Manage 3PL, freight forwarder, and custom brokers; involve contract negotiation as stakeholder to achieve best value and service levels.

Digital, Data & Analytics

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline process, enhance service level performance, and optimize supply chain flows.

  • Digitize key customs and logistics workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency, leverage data analytics for forecasting, visibility, and performance insights.

Risk Management & Business Continuity

  • Monitor operational risk (e.g. transportation network delay, origin disruptions) and develop contingency plans to maintain service continuity.

People & Site Leadership (Malaysia Service Center)

  • Lead, coach, and develop logistics and custom team (20+ ppl) to meet performance objectives and foster a high-performance culture.

  • Serve as senior site leader for our growing Malaysia service center to drive culture, create positive work environment and foster community support in the area.

Functional Competencies –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of logistics and supply chain experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of global customs, trade compliance, freight forwarding, carrier network.

  • Proven success in operations optimization, cost reduction initiative, and large-scale logistics network management.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and continuous improvement mindset, comfortable working in fast-paced, matrix environment.

  • Strong leadership experience in multicultural and/or regional/global teams.

  • Fluent in oral and written English.

Specific Working Conditions

Frequency of Travel: Low and will be mainly to Singapore office.
