MUFG is seeking an Associate, Transaction Banking Sales to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role gives you the chance to contribute meaningfully to the delivery of core banking products and services for corporate clients, with a focus on Trade & Supply Chain Finance and Cash Management.

What you’ll do
As an Associate, Transaction Banking Sales, you will support corporate clients by offering solutions across Trade & Supply Chain Finance and Cash Management. Your work will involve understanding client needs, preparing well‑considered proposals, and partnering with internal teams to deliver quality outcomes. Staying informed about market and product developments will be important, as will contributing ideas that enhance the client experience. Through your work, you will help strengthen the organisation’s position as a trusted banking partner.
Manage a portfolio of corporate clients by developing tailored proposals that address their transaction banking needs while deepening revenue opportunities.
Identify and drive sales opportunities by collaborating with internal stakeholders to grow assets and liabilities.
Build and maintain account plans and sales pipelines to deliver on transaction banking objectives in a timely manner.
Serve as the main contact for clients on TB transactions, offering guidance on technical and operational matters.
Identify product gaps or emerging market opportunities and support improvements or new solutions through effective delivery channels.
Maintain a strong understanding of risk and compliance requirements, ensuring full adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and codes of conduct.
Escalate and manage risk or compliance issues responsibly, supporting a culture of transparency and accountability.
Support portfolio management activities, including periodic reviews and implementation of best practices.
Represent the organisation at client meetings and industry engagements, building trust and long-term relationships.
What you bring
You bring not only academic qualifications, but also practical experience in trade finance or transaction banking and an interest in helping clients operate more efficiently. You understand the demands of structuring solutions that make commercial sense while meeting regulatory expectations. Your experience from sales, client management, or product roles helps you engage clients confidently, while your analytical thinking helps you spot risks and opportunities. Comfort with discussing working capital needs or credit considerations would be an added advantage—and additional language capabilities such as Japanese will be beneficial for certain client segments.
A recognised degree in Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
Minimum two years of experience in trade sales or transaction banking product management.
Proven track record in business development or marketing activities related to trade sales.
Strong understanding of risk profiles and regulatory requirements relating to Trade & Supply Chain products and portfolio management.
Good working knowledge of transaction banking products, including liquidity management, payments, receivables, and pooling/sweeping.
Familiarity with Trade & SCF products such as usance LC payable at sight, non‑recourse LC discounting, supplier or receivable financing will be an advantage and ARPS is highly valued.
Experience identifying product gaps or opportunities for enhancement is an advantage.
Understanding of working capital cycles, credit assessment, or trade operations is a bonus.
Japanese language skills would be an added advantage.
