The Sr Staff Solution Architect, Applied AI is responsible for leading technical discovery and end‑to‑end solution design for high‑impact AI use cases across Cytiva, including agent‑based systems, RAG architectures, and AI copilots. This role owns early‑stage technical validation, reference architectures, and POCs, ensuring AI ideas can be translated into buildable, scalable solutions that accelerate delivery and adoption across the business.
This position reports to the Sr Director, Digital & AI Engineering and is part of the Digital, Data & AI team located in Krakow, Poland and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
Lead technical discovery and architecture design for new AI use cases, including agents, RAG, and LLM‑based applications.
Own and deliver AI POCs and reference architectures that can be productionized by engineering teams.
Define reusable architectural patterns, standards, and guardrails for AI systems across the enterprise.
Partner closely with AI product management to shape use cases into clear technical approaches and delivery plans.
Act as the primary technical authority for AI solution design, unblocking teams and increasing overall delivery throughput.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or platform engineering roles.
Demonstrated experience designing and building production AI systems using LLMs, including agents and RAG architectures.
Hands‑on expertise with modern AI frameworks and platforms (e.g., cloud AI services, vector databases, orchestration frameworks).
Experience defining and owning reference architectures or platform patterns used by multiple engineering teams.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Life sciences, bioprocessing, or other regulated enterprise environments (e.g., GxP).
Designing AI systems with embedded controls for security, compliance, and responsible AI.
Prior experience operating at staff or principal engineer level in a product‑led organization.
