Account Manager- Finance Business Partner (initial scope – system data migration)

Aon Captive & Insurance Management (ACIM) team is involved in Financial Reporting, Insurance Management for Captive Insurance and Insurance linked Structures. You will report to the Manager of the Account Management Team in Commercial Risk Department. The work can be divided into four main areas: Insurance / Reinsurance, Accounting / Finance, Risk Control, Legal / Taxation / Compliance.

What the day will look like

Initial scope (first 8 to 12 months upon onboarding and on-the-job training):

  • Support the data migration from Globe (current system in phase-out) to SICS & D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) for the clients/captives currently managed by the Teams

  • Backfilling – bridging the gaps between the bookings and premiums/claims repositories in the mentioned systems

  • Reconciliation of the accounts’ balances.

    Target scope, following the system migration:

  • The daily bookkeeping, update and control of the bank accounts of the clients.

  • Accounting of changes in value of investments as well as forex adjustments on banks and investments.

  • Calculation of technical reserves for both incoming and outgoing business in connection with book-closings.

  • Production of financial reports for the clients within the deadlines given by each client.

  • Control and administrate the total (re)insurance portfolio of the captives

  • Control and register all reinsurance agreements, both for incoming and outgoing business.

  • Control that the right premium is paid to the captive within the agreed time.

  • Check that losses claimed by insurance companies are in accordance with agreements and policies and arrange for the payment of these claims as well as the system registration of them.

  • Produce statistical reports on the insurance business on special request from the clients.

  • Preparing the general ledger and the management trial balances for the annual audit of each client.

  • Preparation of reporting and coordination of the reporting process to the regulator and any other reports required by the local authorities.

    Additional scope (only for the limited number of clients):

  • Preparation of documents for board meetings and annual general meetings of the clients.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 5 years of sophisticated accounting experience

  • Proficiency in English. Knowledge of other European language(s) will be a plus – with French or German preferred.

  • Experience with SICS or D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) desirable.

  • Involvement in the accounting system transition/migration: evaluation of the implemented program from an accounting perspective and integration of the accounting data transferred from other accounting systems – a huge plus.

  • Knowledge of insurance technical accounting is a plus

  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools Word (good) and Excel (very good) in addition to exposure to at least one accounting software package

  • ACCA/ACA, IFRS knowledge or equivalent accountancy qualification - nice to have

  • An ability to constantly seek to improve
