Job Description
NANA Construction is hiring for a dependable and safety-focused construction professional with a Class A or B CDL with HazMat endorsements to support civil construction projects in remote Alaska. The ideal candidate is comfortable working long hours in challenging weather conditions, following strict safety protocols, and living and working in remote camp environments.
Responsibilities
Operate CDL-required vehicles, including tanker trucks, to transport:
Fuel, water, concrete, or other regulated materials.
Hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with DOT regulations.
Load, unload, and secure materials safely and properly.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance.
Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, and required documentation.
Perform daily equipment inspections.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and site-specific requirements.
Work safely in extreme weather and uneven terrain.
Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their supervisor.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum one (1) year experience in civil construction, environmental work, or industrial labor required.
Valid Class A or B CDL.
HazMat (H) endorsements.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
Strong understanding of jobsite safety and hazardous materials handling.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and rotational schedules.
Ability to live and work in remote Alaska locations for extended periods.
Preferred
Experience working in remote or camp-based projects
Arctic or cold-weather construction experience
Spill response or environmental remediation experience
Equipment operation experience (loader, excavator, skid steer, etc.)

The employee must regularly lift, move and /or carry up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Steel toed boots required on the job.
Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security checkpoint.
