In this role, you will work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Associate Application Consultant for AWS Cloud, you will support the design, implementation, and operation of cloud-based applications in client environments.

You will work closely with experienced architects, engineers, and consultants, contributing to delivery teams while developing your technical and consulting capabilities. Strong communication, collaboration, and a professional client-facing attitude are essential for success in this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support application and cloud delivery activities on AWS projects

  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants

  • Participate in client meetings and project workstreams

  • Learn and apply AWS services, cloud concepts, and delivery best practices

  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and team collaboration activities

  • Act professionally and confidently in customer environments

This position will be based within the Hybrid Cloud & Data service line.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Majors: Computer Science, MIS/IT, Computer Engineering, Data Science, SW Engineering, or related fields.

  • Strong proactive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in client-facing environments

  • Interest and first experience in cloud computing, application development, and AWS

  • You're great at solving problems by looking at things differently, debugging, troubleshooting, and designing & implementing solutions for complex technical issues.

  • You thrive on teamwork, you have excellent verbal and written communication skills and, importantly, a consulting mindset.

  • Excellent verbal and written German language skills (C1 level), fluency in English.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Initial exposure to AWS Cloud or other cloud platforms

  • Academic projects, internships, or hands-on labs related to IT or software development

  • Basic understanding of DevOps or automation concepts

  • Interest in pursuing AWS certifications
