US Coast Guard Nonappropriated Funds - NAF Water Safety Instructor in Kodiak, Alaska
Manage swimming pool activities. Insure compliance with operating policies, instructions, safety rules and swimming practices. Acts as water safety instructor and lifeguard, instructs beginners in swimming; gives life-saving instructions as required.
Supervises and instructs in the proper use and maintenance of pool equipment including water testing.Checksconditionofshowersandbathroomsadoutsideareas;insuresthatallareasare maintainedinaneatandsanitarycondition;makesnotesofconditionoffacilitiesandreportsto supervisor.
Checkspremisesforfirehazardsandensuresthatfacilityissecuredatclosingtime.Ensures staff remains current with certifications.
Performsotherrelateddutiesas assigned.

Minimum
:
- Mustpossessandmaintainthefollowingcertifications:Lifeguarding,Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer; Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and First Aid; (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis); and the American Red Cross; Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certificate.
