The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects with a primary focus on underground piping systems and wastewater treatment facilities. This role oversees all phases of construction—from preconstruction planning through project closeout—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on field experience, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of civil and water/wastewater construction practices.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate construction activities with a focus on underground piping systems and wastewater treatment facilities.
Oversee all phases of construction from preconstruction planning to project closeout.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Essential Skills
3-4 years of experience with pump stations and water/wastewater plant construction.
Proven experience managing civil, utility, or water/wastewater construction projects from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm), treatment plant structures, and mechanical/process systems.
Proficiency with construction scheduling, budgeting, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar).
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience working on municipal or industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
OSHA 30, PMP, or similar certifications.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
The position is based in the Knoxville, TN office with periodic trips to project sites. Candidates should either be located in Knoxville or be willing to relocate. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
