As a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the preparation of materials for testing and aiding certified professionals in conducting various laboratory tests. Your duties will include handling samples through front-end automation, storing and archiving specimens, retrieving and reconciling samples for additional testing, and preparing buffer materials. You will also be responsible for receiving specimens and supplies, processing information from collection centers, tracking donor samples from receipt to final testing, and ensuring proper disposal of samples into biohazard containers after testing.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of materials for testing and laboratory tests.
Handle receipt and preparation of samples through front-end automation.
Store and archive samples in refrigerated and frozen conditions.
Retrieve and reconcile samples from archive for additional testing.
Prepare buffer materials for tests.
Receive specimens and supplies, and process information from collection centers.
Track donor samples from receipt to final testing.
Dispose of samples properly into biohazard containers after testing.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
Use computerized inventory management system to locate, track, and determine testing status of samples.
Monitor inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify supervisor when necessary.

Work Environment
The position is based in a donor processing/manufacturing facility with a positive work environment and a standard daily operating rhythm. The lab operates Monday to Friday with shifts typically from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. First-day orientation is typically on Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Employees are trained in the medical field as entry-level candidates with a bachelor's degree and no additional certifications required. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.82 - $17.82/hr.
