Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY :
This position has the responsibility to always comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
This position is responsible for all aspects of product manufacturing within the department, coordinating workflow between all departments. This person is responsible for continuous improvement of process efficiencies, people and food safety and quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Directly supervises and coordinates departmental activities across multiple shifts, managing up to 80 personnel.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Responsible for goal setting, evaluating performance and hiring.
Schedules and oversees manufacturing resources to achieve production goals set by operations management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Assures production activities follow company policies and procedures to include environmental, quality control standards and safety compliance.
Ensures a safe work environment is maintained or improved throughout the plant.
Insures consistent communications and monthly department FSQ and Safety meetings are completed in a timely manner.
Schedules staff and assign duties to meet production needs.
Develops and administers material and labor usage controls.
Implements employee relations programs with the objective of improving employee engagement and morale.
Responds to unexpected interruptions in the production process to provide direction, decisions, and assistance.
Assists accounting with inventories of production supplies.
Insure all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations related to food processing are followed.
Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
May make decisions and perform the job responsibilities of the Operations or Processing Manager in their absence.
Report/Improve any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
Responsible for leading RedZone meetings and ensure that huddles are held.
Actively lead and/or participate in an SRMP Element.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience supervising and leading teams of 25 or more production employees
Experience with continuous improvement processes (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, VSM)
Preventative and predictive maintenance program experience.
Collaboration with all levels of employees.
Experience in developing and implementing positive employee relations processes
SAP environment
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Data comprehension and evaluation concerning process improvements, shrink reduction, budgetary shortfall/surplus, etc.
Ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift to 50 lbs., exposure to hot and cold and extensive walking
Ability to be on call and work extended or after hours as needed.
