Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for consistently following all Safety Work Rules and reinforcing Safety as a Core Value. The role ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety and Quality are followed uniformly to reduce product and process variability.

The primary purpose of this position is to direct the activities of Pre‑Cooked Department employees involved in the production of egg patties and omelets. Responsibilities include developing work schedules, assigning tasks to meet production goals, coordinating on‑the‑job training for new and transferred employees, and providing relief support to other Pre‑Cooked Department Lead Persons and Processing Supervisors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. Follow all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety into all tasks.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.

  • Perform all duties of other Pre‑Cooked Department Lead Persons (Forming Room, 3rd Floor, 4th Floor).

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication between floors, departments, and shifts.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of daily and weekly start‑up and shutdown procedures for equipment such as Doboy, ovens, and spiral freezers.

  • Understand all customer specifications and perform weight/quality checks, metal detector checks, and required computer or paperwork entries, including Infinity QS data entry.

  • Evaluate product to ensure it meets specifications and take corrective action when necessary.

  • Work with the Processing Supervisor and/or subordinates to resolve employee issues, complaints, or grievances.

  • Tolerate temperature variations throughout all areas of the Pre‑Cooked Department for the entire shift.

  • Attend seminars and training to enhance professional competence.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and interacting effectively with customers, clients, co‑workers, and management.

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and assist Maintenance with troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Make decisions and perform the responsibilities of the Processing Supervisor in their absence.

  • Follow safe work practices, GMPs, and HACCP guidelines; maintain sanitary conditions; and ensure product quality to support SQF Level 3 certification.

  • Report any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees.

  • Ability to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram‑based instructions.

  • Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills (reading, writing, verbal) and the ability to work well with others.

  • Positive attitude and ability to address issues tactfully with supervisors.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to lead and motivate people.

  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to operate specific equipment or tools.

  • Full understanding of the Cooked Department and customer specifications.

  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and safety regulations for the area.

  • Ability to wear required PPE.

  • Ability to work indoors in varying temperature environments.

  • Ability to climb stairs and stand on hard surfaces for extended periods.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties.
