Description
Astronics AES seeks a Chief Engineer – Electrical to drive the long-term growth and success of our Airborne Power & Control (APC) Product Group , specializing in aerospace power generation, conversion, and distribution . Collaborating across product groups and business units, this role ensures technical leadership, customer satisfaction, and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Roadmap Development: Define and execute a forward-looking APC Power Conversion Product roadmap, focusing on new products and systems aligned with customer needs and emerging technologies. Success is measured by revenue growth and market share expansion.
Strategic Planning: Shape APC’s technical direction and align R&D investments with customer demands to deliver thoughtfully designed, integrated solutions. Success includes strong ROI on new products and enhancements.
Intellectual Property: Evaluate and protect new intellectual property, leveraging trade secrets or patents to sustain a competitive advantage. Success is marked by new patentable IP that positions APC as an industry leader.
Customer Interface: Build relationships and establish APC as a trusted technical partner. Support business development by addressing customer needs and gaining their confidence. Success is reflected in the adoption of APC solutions within 24 months in new platforms.
Mentorship: Guide engineering staff to ensure product quality through mentorship, design reviews, and leveraging lessons learned. Success includes high-performing new products and developing internal leadership talent.
Technology Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies. Drive APC's reputation as a thought leader in power conversion and airframe power. Success includes launching a novel power conversion product within three years.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace power solutions.
Desired Experience:
Creating and managing product roadmaps.
Proposing R&D projects and intellectual property development.
Defining technical goals and strategic plans.
Supporting business development, including customer engagement and solutions alignment.
Overseeing design, development, and mentoring engineering teams.
Representing the company at industry and technical events.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must satisfy ITAR (International Traffic in Arms) requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Pre-employment background check and drug screening (includes cannabis ).
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $180,677 - $288,613 annually. (Mid-point: $234,645) . Factors such as experience, certifications, and market conditions will help determine your actual salary, with most new hires positioned closer to the midpoint.
Additionally, Astronics offers a highly competitive Quarterly Profit Sharing Bonus.
