Job Description
Team Lead
Kinston, NC
Compensation Includes
- Starting Pay Rate of $28.41 - $35.45/hour depending on experience - paid weekly
Available Shift
- 2nd: 4:00pm - 12:00am
Overview
As the Lead Person, you will be expected to provide strong leadership, direction, and coaching for a full team of hourly employees in one of the plant departments.
Responsibilities
Understand the production schedule and ensure the schedule is followed without over-runs or shortages
Assist with minor machine adjustments and repairs as needed and assist the operators with troubleshooting
Perform daily date code audits.
Consistently monitor quality in cups, thermoforming, case packing and padlocker, printing, or forming departments
Monitor and track labor and pounds produced to achieve maximum efficiency
Ability and willingness to operate equipment as necessary
Accurately complete SAP confirmations for product produced at shift end
Verify material consumption using the end of shift verification process and track your teams performance and post results of your operation daily
Work proactively with the QA department and maintenance to assure the highest quality products are produced with the fewest deviations from specifications
Enhance the GMP and housekeeping of your department through weekly audits, 5S implementation and the strict application of expectations so the area is audit ready at all times
Monitor WIP, corrugate and other materials for quality, and when lacking, properly process the material by tagging it with a ‘Reject’ tag, blocking it in SAP, and communicating with everyone as to the issue and location of the questionable material
Effectively conduct Tool Box Talks each week with your team to foster a ‘Safety First’ culture and prevent accidents
Conduct and participate in weekly Safety Gembas in the plant to assure unsafe conditions and behaviors are fixed immediatel
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, college or technical college coursework highly desired
Strong computer skills (Minimum above average ability in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Access desired)
Experience with creating Excel spreadsheets using formulas and macros
Ability to learn SAPand complete production reports with minimal errors
Ability to conduct effective and accurate performance reviews for each of your team members
Ability to create standard work and SWIS documents, and effectively train against them
Assure log sheets are complete and accurate, and visual management is applied daily to help achieve goals
Understand problem solving processes such as 5Why, Fishbone diagrams, A3’s and 8D’s and apply them to improve and standardize processes
Sufficient oral and written communications skills to communicate effectively with team members and members of management.
Ability to set high expectations while continuing to motivate employees to excel
Manage multiple priorities effectively anddemonstrate effective time management skills
Possess the confidence and ability to handle an entire production crew without additional supervision
