Kinston Housing Authority Executive Assistant / Human Resources in Kinston, North Carolina
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant/Human Resources professional to support our executive team and manage various HR functions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of our organization by providing comprehensive administrative and HR support. The ideal candidate will possess strong office management skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in project coordination and event planning. A background in data entry and customer service is preferred to ensure smooth daily operations and effective personnel management.
Duties include the following, but are not limited to what is listed:
- Provide executive administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments using Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
- Manage correspondence via multi-line phone systems, ensuring professional phone etiquette and prompt responses to inquiries.
- Assist with event planning for company functions, meetings, and employee engagement activities.
- Oversee office management tasks such as filing, data entry, document proofreading, transcription, and maintaining organized records.
- Coordinate project activities across departments to ensure timely completion of objectives.
- Manage HR functions including onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel files, and assisting with employee relations.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards in all interactions with staff and external contacts.
Education and Experience
- Requires a 4-year degree in human resource management, business, or other related field or any equivalent combination of experience, training, and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Prefers 3-5 years of work experience in human resources.
- Requires a working knowledge of federal/state/local human resources regulations.
- Proven experience in office management or administrative support roles with a focus on executive assistance or personal assistant duties.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data entry systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional phone etiquette.
- Prior experience in event planning, project coordination, or HR functions is preferred but not required.

Pay: From $51,417.60 per year
