Lead Technologist with a Chemical Engineering background and >10 years of experience in Chemical process development, pilot operations and process engineering. This position involves engineering design, scale up and operations of novel chemical processes, supporting technology transfer through to commercialization, and small lots manufacturing.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated very good communication (multilingual preferred) and prioritization skills as well as strong hands-on experience in chemical process development, laboratory space and small-scale pilot processes design/build/operation, and/or small lots manufacturing.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Working within a multi-disciplined team, focused on technology research and development aimed at creating opportunities for business growth and renewal.
Participate in the various stages of technology research and development, from concept through process demonstration and product development, to commercialization.
Planning, organizing, and executing experiments in a team environment providing guidance to less experienced team members. Abilityto understand and influence others
A broad working knowledge of QA/QC and familiar with various chemical and physical test protocols
Strong documentation skills that includes design using AutoCad – P&ID/PFD and 3D Modeling along with interpretation of operating parameters and experimental observations.
Maintain an active interface with management, project team, and contractor for progress, commitments and management of change.
Maintain a safe working environment and participate in all required safety programs, trainings, and activities
Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned processes
Operate and field check process equipment by monitoring process conditions, equipment, and control systems
Lead technical sub-team, lead multiple projects to develop solutions or work with others to define scope of larger projects to drive business adoption of technology and meet customer needs.
Perform process equipment troubleshooting, equipment repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance utilizing the appropriate work processes and disciplines.
The successful applicant will have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and will have demonstrated >10 years in Chemical process development, pilot operations and process engineering. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to be an effective team member. As the project work evolves ability to solve more complex problems, while working with minimal guidance and leading specific technical segments.
Qualifications:
Required:
Master's degree in Chemical Engineering
10 or more years of relevant experience in chemical process development, piloting and R&D or process optimization
Knowledge & training related to TMODs- process simulation
Experience designing, specifying, assembling and operating lab and/or pilot scale chemical process equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret digital controls interface, mass & energy balance, follow operating instructions, interpret P&ID’s and author or revise procedures
Strong mechanical aptitude along with competency in AutoCad, 3D Modeling, PFD’s, Uncountable, analytical, technical, and computer systems/applications.
Strong project leadership planning, recognition of hazards and reporting skills. i.e. Member of PHA team
Strong ability to work independently. Solves well-defined and more complex problems, working with minimal guidance
Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams. Understands the products and competencies across multiple business segments.
Experience working with equipment suppliers and contractors.
Strong desire to commercialize technology and a results-oriented mentality.

The Pay range for this role is $64,400.00 - $101,200.00 Annual
