Job Title: Assembler – Medical Device Prewire Department

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and prewiring sensors for medical devices in a highly regulated, sterile clean room environment. You will work on a production line handling very small components, setting up wiring on devices, and performing detailed quality checks. The position involves rotating 12-hour shifts and requires strong manual dexterity, excellent vision, and the ability to maintain focus and accuracy over long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and prewire sensors for medical devices on a production line in a clean room environment.

  • Set up wiring on devices according to detailed specifications and established procedures.

  • Perform thorough quality checks on assembled components to ensure they meet strict standards.

  • Handle and work with very small parts, comparable in size to eyeglass screws, throughout the shift.

  • Sit or stand for extended periods while working around the production line as required by the task.

  • Follow all clean room protocols and remain in the sterile area as needed to maintain product integrity.

  • Inspect products and packaging for defects or inconsistencies and report any issues promptly.

  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and concentration during repetitive tasks.

  • Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements within the production facility.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to work with very small assembly parts and components.

  • Strong manual dexterity for handling and assembling small pieces throughout the shift.

  • Good vision to see and inspect very small parts and detailed components.

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and focus for long periods of time.

  • Capability to perform general production, assembly, and inspection tasks in a manufacturing environment.

  • Comfort working in a structured production line setting with repetitive tasks.

  • Reliability in following procedures, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, general labor, or general production environments.

  • Experience in packaging and inspection within a regulated or quality-focused setting.

  • Comfort working in a clean room or sterile environment with strict protocols.

  • Willingness and ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.

  • Strong work ethic and consistency in meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Work Environment

The position is based on a production line in a sterile clean room, separate from other lines due to the specialized medical products being manufactured. The facility operates as an FDA-regulated site, so it is very clean, orderly, and tightly controlled. You will work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, alternating between 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with rotations between day and night shifts every two weeks. The work involves prolonged periods of sitting or standing around the production line and continuous handling of very small components in a highly regulated, clean, and structured environment. Dress and conduct must comply with clean room and sterile-area protocols at all times.

This is a Contract position based out of Kingston, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr.
