JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK) is recruiting for a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Food Service Assistant 1/Caf Worker, to join our dedicated King Caf/Home Exchange team. WVHK is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled veterans and spouses of veterans. Our facility is on the picturesque shoreline of the Chain O\'Lakes, off Highway 10, between Stevens Point and Appleton, Wisconsin. Under general supervision of the Food Service Administrator, the FSA 1 - Home Exchange performs the duties associated with working in a moderate complexity cafe, bar, and gift shop that serves members and public. Duties include: provide a quality dining experience for customers, cooking and serving food, taking orders, operating a point-of-sale system, handling money, food portioning, counting inventory, general cleaning and socializing with the members. This position works as an integral part of the Home Exchange Team. This is a flexible part-time position that work 4-5 hours per day between the hours of 8:00am and 3:30pm. This position may work up to but no more than 20 hours per week. LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits. Job duties include collecting customer orders, preparing food and completing service transactions including utilization the point-of-sale system. Handling cash transactions is required. Employees may be required to serve beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as ordered and customer service skills are necessary. Experience working in a food service environment. Basic understanding of proper food handling and sanitation practices. Experience working with a team. Well Qualified Applicants will have: Extensive experience with food handling and sanitation practices. Team leader experience.
