Job Description:

Shift: Monday - Friday Days

Call Required

Oversees compliance with departmental policies, MRI safety guidelines, and regulatory/accreditation standards. Assists with onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing competency assessment of technologists and new hires. Supports leadership in performance management through the talent care process, performance reviews, and providing coaching opportunities for team member development. Collaborates with radiologists, leadership, and other departments to facilitate timely and coordinated imaging services. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including image quality audits, repeat analysis, and process improvement projects. Ensures proper equipment functionality and coordinates preventative maintenance. Participates in scheduling, timekeeping, and supply inventory management to support operational efficiency and budget goals. Stays current with evolving MR safety standards and participating in ongoing education to support departmental safety culture. Provides day-to-day supervision of technologists, support staff, and imaging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Coordinates daily workflow and staffing assignments, balancing patient volumes, technologist availability, and room utilization. Other duties as assigned. Serves as a clinical resource to technologists, students, and other staff, offering guidance on protocols, positioning, image quality, and regulatory compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• MR Technologist must have basic computer and legible writing skills. [Required]

• Must have effective communication skills to appropriately educate patients, be an effective team worker, and assist with answering phones with proper etiquette determined by management. [Required]

• Fluent in the English language and able to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds. [Required]

• Must possess critical thinking skills, ability to manage multiple details, tasks, and decision-making capabilities under busy working conditions. [Required]

• A high level of multitasking, organization, proactive customer service skills, and the ability to monitor staff productivity and provide coaching feedback to increase quality and productivity standards are necessary. [Required]

• MR Technologist must be sensitive to the physical and psychological needs of patients, with attention to detail and the capacity to follow physician’s instructions. [Required]

• Ability to learn and use basic supervisory skills, Radiology software packages, and MRI safety protocol. [Required]

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry is required. [Required]

• Ability to use sound judgment in emergency scenarios, delegate clinical tasks/assign clinical activities to implement plans of care and perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision of technical details. [Required]

• Following orientation of one month, the technologist should be able to work independently. Within three months, the Technologist should be able to work an independent shift and participate in on-call duties. [Required]

• Basic computer skills are needed along with PACS and RIS experience, and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook. [Required]

• Supports all hospital and administration initiatives for customer service, patient care, and interdepartmental cooperation, and actively participates in the Whole Care Experience, department meetings, and any assigned projects. [Required]

• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English. [Required]

• Basic IV skills are preferred. [Required]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]

• Bachelor's [Preferred]

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years leadership experience [Preferred]

• 5+ years experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (R.T.(MR)ARRT)) + Medical Radiological Technologist with Texas Medical Board (MRT with TMB) [Required] OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) [Required]

• Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$32.56 - $60.56
