Naval Sea Systems Command Deputy Department Head / Business Manager in Keyport, Washington

Summary You will serve as a Deputy Department Head / Business Manager in the Corporate Operations Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of a medium to large work force consisting of Level 03, 04, and 05 employees. You will oversee projects and programs, providing advice and guidance to lower level supervisory where problems exist or are developing. You will have decision making authority for programs/functions having broad impact within the activity, the Navy, and the Department of War. You will work closely with other supervisors and managers outside the organization unit to further activity and agency programs. You will evaluate the work of subordinate supervisors and staff personnel, approve leave, recommend discipline, awards and promotions, resolve employee complaints, and hear serious problems. You will set, direct, evaluate and determine the critical aspects of long-range plans, goals and objectives, budgetary and staffing needs and solutions of the administrative/technical program segments or functions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NT-05 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing strategic planning, providing advice and guidance on budgets, and leading a team in the execution of corporate operations. Education There is no education substitution for this position. Additional Information This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-6 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15. This position includes a supervisory pay differential of 2%.
