Moonlight Companies Plant Clerk in Kerman, California
Job Summary:
The Plant Clerk serves as the first point of contact for visitors, drivers, and staff at the packing plant. This role is responsible for handling administrative tasks, coordinating communication between departments, and ensuring accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced agricultural or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist visitors, vendors, and truck drivers in a professional manner
Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails
Manage inbound and outbound shipment paperwork (bills of lading, invoices, packing lists)
Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and shipments
Perform data entry and maintain filing systems (digital and physical)
Monitor office supplies and place orders as needed
Assist with payroll timekeeping or basic HR administrative tasks
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures
Provide general administrative support to management and staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous office or clerical experience preferred, especially in agriculture, logistics, or manufacturing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Basic understanding of shipping/receiving processes is a plus
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
Working Conditions:
Office environment within a packing plant setting
May involve interaction with warehouse or production areas
Occasional exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels
Standard operation hours with possible overtime during peak seasons
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods
Occasional lifting of office materials (up to 25 lbs)
Compensation:
[Min $17.50 - Max $19.00]
