Job Title: Mech & Robotics Tech Job Description

As a Mech & Robotics Technician, you will utilize your expertise to support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems within the facility. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, as well as mentor junior technicians to advance in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures.

  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with accurate documentation.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.

  • Maintain positive working relationships across the entire Amazon Operations facility.

  • Track and store department inventory efficiently.

  • Move up to 49 lbs, stand, and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Possibly travel up to 20% as required.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in PC competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.

  • 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.

  • 2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.

  • 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.

  • 1 year of metal and wood fabrication.

  • 1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.

  • 1 year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.

  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM and Safety standards.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Work Environment

These are true contract-to-hire positions available for every shift, requiring openness to all shift times. Shifts can vary, with the first shift typically starting between 4am-6am, and mids around 1pm. Performance is tracked through data and numbers, with a system in place to ensure expectations are met. Work in a large distribution facility with high-speed, automated equipment, primarily featuring robotic components. Be prepared to walk approximately 10,000 steps per day, and be open to working any 10-hour shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.11 - $30.11/hr.
