Member Service Representative
Location: Fully Remote (Washington State)
Candidates must live near Spokane, WA or Renton, WA
Employment Type: 6‑Month Contract‑to‑Hire
Work Environment: Remote, required to pick up equipment in Renton or Spokane
About the Role
A large, mission‑driven healthcare organization is seeking Member Service Representatives to support members, providers, and partners through high‑quality service and issue resolution. This role is a 6‑month contract‑to‑hire opportunity, offering the chance to convert to a long‑term position based on performance and business need.
This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy helping others, thrive in a structured call‑center environment, and have experience supporting customers in regulated industries such as healthcare, insurance, banking, or financial services.
While this role is fully remote day‑to‑day, candidates must live near Spokane or Renton, Washington to pick up equipment and access onsite IT support if needed.
What You’ll Do
Member Support & Issue Resolution
Resolve member complaints and inquiries with professionalism and empathy
Provide information related to medical coverage, claims, referrals, eligibility, and benefits
Assist with appointment access, provider selection, billing questions, and service concerns
Communicate with members, prospective members, providers, brokers, attorneys, and employer groups
Customer Experience
Deliver accurate, timely, and compliant information in a high‑volume environment
Navigate complex healthcare and insurance topics with strong attention to detail
Document interactions clearly and accurately in internal systems
Uphold confidentiality and regulatory compliance standards
Multi‑Channel Communication
Support members via phone, written correspondence, and electronic systems
Adjust communication style to meet a wide range of member needs
De‑escalate difficult situations while maintaining a positive experience
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of high‑volume call center experience
Healthcare Experience is Preferred
Prior work‑from‑home experience in a call center setting
Experience working in a regulated industry (insurance, banking, financial services, etc.)
Preferred Experience
Call center experience within a healthcare or insurance environment
Experience supporting health plan members or medical insurance programs
Strong communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills
Remote Work Requirements
Quiet, private workstation
Ability to work scheduled shifts without caregiving responsibilities during work hours
Reliable internet connection
Location Requirement
Must live near Spokane, WA or Renton, WA
Equipment pickup required at one of the two administrative hubs
Occasional onsite visits may be required for IT or system support
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.62/hr.
