Job Title: Process Engineer
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to enhance the maturity, discipline, and strategic direction of the Process Engineering function. With a junior team structure, this role requires a leader who can bring strong engineering fundamentals and a problem-solving mindset to guide the team towards proactive, high-value operational impact.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor other Process Engineering team members to strengthen engineering discipline and problem-solving capabilities.
Support daily manufacturing operations, troubleshoot issues, and guide documentation updates.
Drive strategic, high-impact process improvements focused on cost, quality, yield, and throughput.
Manage and justify capital projects, including spend decisions, business cases, and execution.
Lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions.
Develop process maps, control plans, FMEAs, and standardized work tools.
Execute and oversee cross-functional projects, balancing line support with project work.
Evaluate equipment, technologies, and processes to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Support new product manufacturability and process scale-up.
Create clear technical reports, data analyses, and project updates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Polymer)
5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Process Engineering role
Experience with projecting capital equipment needs and developing strategic timelines
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and act on data
Must meet requirements for U.S. export control regulations
Work Environment
This role involves spending approximately 70% of the time on the manufacturing floor and 30% in the office. It includes heavy interaction between departments such as R&D, Operations, and Engineering, and extensive collaboration with technicians on the floor. The individual in this position will be the 'go-to' person for a specific area of the manufacturing floor and will own and lead specific projects to completion. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
