A Carter Lumber Human Resources Coordinator plays an important role in supporting our people and our stores. In this position, you’ll help carry out key HR functions, including employment processes, DOT compliance, and employee relations. You’ll partner with teams across the company to support both employees and managers, helping ensure issues are addressed quickly and respectfully. We’re looking for someone who believes in our mission, values teamwork, and wants to make a positive impact across the organization.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field;recent or upcoming graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities are required to succeed in this role
Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment with time constraints
Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and policies within the HR field
Capacity to communicate clearly and convey information in an organized, credible and concise fashion
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
Familiarity with VICTIG or JJ Keller is a plus
Responsibilities
Employment
- Assists the department in carrying out various human resources programs and policies in areas such as: employment screening, reviewing motor vehicle records (MVR), maintaining DOT compliance, employee communication, and additional projects as assigned.
Employee Relations
- Distributes employment related concerns to the store, or Human Resources Manager as needed, and acts as a liaison between employees and locations, should issues arise, to ensure proper resolution.
HR Training & Development
- Perform administrative tasks such but not limited to research, policy review, and preparing training content.
Administration
- Act as a backup to the coworkers in the department, in relations to new hires, answering phone calls, and addressing employee concerns.
